Blackburn’s Oldest Established Retail Business

Established in 1870 A. Ainsworth & Sons (Jewellers) Ltd is still a family run Jewellery Business in the heart of Blackburn Town Centre.

Founded by Joseph Ainsworth, the business was located at 64 Darwen Street, and during the next 90 years moved around the Town Centre as redevelopments took place. In 1964 we settled in our present location just 2 door away from where Joseph founded the business.

Today Ainsworth Jewellers is still within the family and is run by his great-grandson, Ken and his son, Phil.

We are members of the National Association of Goldsmith’s the trade body who oversee the Jewellery Trade, and are proud to be members of the Company of Master Jewellers, the largest independent buying group of Jewellers in the country.
